There was a great turn out for our February meeting despite the change of day. Eight members turned up, two of which were new and we were delighted to finally welcome along Jen & Elaine who have been hoping to join us for some time now.
Jessica opened the meeting with a reading from Love From, Paddington a sweet collection of letters from Paddington Bear to his Aunt Lucy back in Peru. The letter she read was from the author Michael Bond to the reader and referred to the simple joy of a handwritten letter.
There were so many wonderful things shared during the Show & Mail part of the evening. Elaine had brought along some fabulous snail mail related books (linked below) and Eve had received some beautiful incoming mail art. Abi brought along lots of pretty papers to share and Jessica shared some fold and mail stationery by More Love Letters.
The Society had received another penpal request, which was read out and swiftly matched along with another pen pal request from the CLE Club. Only one more pal at the CLE Club remains.
This month we sent out 21 pieces of mail via Box No. 54 on Le Mont Saint and Emma B was the lucky winner of the free stamp.

With the exception of next month all meetings will now be held on the first Monday of every month (even if the first Monday is a bank holiday) as Mondays seem to suit the majority of members better.
Next Meeting is on Thursday, 8th March 2018.
