September’s Meeting

GSY LWS 053 .jpg

Well next week’s meeting is going to be a special one, because September marks the first anniversary of The Guernsey Letter Writers Society!

The evening will follow our usual format, but with the addition of some scrumptious cake and a stationery swap so please don’t miss out.

Members are encouraged to bring along any unwanted or surplus stationery so that we can swap it between members and all leave with some new and free stationery to stock up ready for those long and cosy evenings of autumn letter writing.

If you would like to join us at our next meeting then please RSVP to let us know you’re coming either by emailing or simply comment over on Instagram.

I look forward to seeing you next Monday.

A la perchoine,

{Minutes of Meeting} August 2018

Despite the summer holidays 8 of us turned out for August’s meeting of the GSY LWS, including a new member whom we were delighted to welcome to the group.

Jessica opened the meeting with a reading from a children’s book called The Flying Postman by V.H. Drummond and kicked off the Show & Mail part of the evening by sharing some beautiful incoming mail she had received from her pen pal in South Korea.

Abi also shared an impressive craft piece she had made using an old children’s book turing it into a stationery organiser, perfect for all those little bits of paper ephemera.

In total 16 pieces of mail were sent out this month to 7 different countries from Box. No. 9 near Cambridge Park and Les Cotils. This was the breakdown of the outgoing mail:

5 GSY, 6 UK, 2 EUR, 3 ROW

Next Meeting is on Monday, 3rd September 2018.
